Quentin Garel

Paris, 1975

Quentin Garel’s sculptures are deceptive at first glance, they could be actual real animal heads, as the wood-look bronze assembly is easily recognized by sight. The artist’s favorite material is wood, from which he models the sculptures and then fuses iron bronze to obtain the sculptures in the exhibition.

Each trophy belongs to a series of eight. In the exhibition, the drawings are also a remarkable aspect of all his work. Drawings of anatomical studies of animals are presented, such as a small tentacle also transferred in sculpture or a set of elephant heads in a 2-meter drawing made with charcoal on paper.
