Rubén Martín de Lucas

Madrid, 1977

In 2002 he graduated as a Civil Engineer from the School of Civil Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. After a long journey through India, he decided to devote himself entirely to art without ever getting to practice engineering.

In 2001 he became one of the five founders of Boa Mistura, a multidisciplinary artistic collective with roots in urban art with whom Ruben worked from 2001 to 2015, carrying out projects in South Africa, Spain, Norway, Germany, Algeria, Mexico and Brazil. In January 2015 he began his solo career developing a body of work whose focus is “landscape and associated behavior”. His projects form a committed and critical discourse that invites us to urgently reconsider our relationship with the territory and the rest of beings that inhabit it. His work has been exhibited in art centers such as the CAB in Burgos or the Lianzhou Museum of Photography in China. In photography festivals such as Encontros de Imagem in Braga or Circulation(s) in Paris. He works with galleries in Spain, France, Germany and the United States and his work has also been exhibited in group exhibitions in countries like Uruguay, Cuba, Italy, Nigeria and Finland.
